Lunch Log: Week 158

Hi I’m Kit, and I’m addicted to karaage chicken…

It’s so unfair that for most of the things I find tasty they are laden with fat and oil – and if not, they are full of complex carbohydrates. So, this week was practically owned by chicken. At least it’s compatible with making wraps, which would explain why this week is a contrast to the variety of the one past.

Not much to see folks, got too lazy when it was clear there’ll be a delay going for a “foreign groceries” run. Lunch is tomato, steamed broccoli, miso mayo roasted salmon with carrot and leek and roasted capsicum.

Well this is the “not going to achieve weight loss” menu, given mayo and fried food is present. Lunch is carrot kimpira, tomato, steamed broccoli, bread-and-butter pickles, chicken karaage and cabbage with miso mayo dressing.

At least there are plenty of air gaps around the chicken pieces

I can’t win with too much sunlight or the dull indirect light indoors

Looks awfully familiar right? Going more oniony in this one, using a variant on the green onion sauce for karaage in the Just Bento cookbook. Lunch is steamed broccoli, roasted capsicum, tomato, bread-and-butter pickles, Tori karaage with a green onion dressing and spinach and leek curry.

Before I get accused that my “hangover bento” was a cheese toastie (it was my “dessert), behold! Bibimbap! Steamed broccoli, ginger cabbage, carrot namul, chilli beef and a soft boiled egg: wooo!

And cooking this morning from scratch was done in 40 mins which involved making a wrap and rice bagged up for next time: wooo!

Tiny breakfast bowl though: booo!

Uh, I wanna rage-quit work; at least for now I’m eating more veggies. Lunch is chicken karaage with an “Asian relish”, tomatoes, carrot kimpira, steamed broccoli, roasted capsicum namul and spinach and leek curry
