Lunch Log: Week 164

One thing about listening to radio over the weekend I like are ones with food programmes, and this time what set the household salivating was “everyday lentils”. In addition to a slow roast and left over curry, it’s been another week deviating from the norm.

Except the part where it was all very good – can’t degrade that standard.

March 29

Urgh, my stomach has not recovered from last night’s takeaway. At least I didn’t have to cook side dishes; this is enough for me today. Lunch is onigiri: one with crispy bacon and the other with umeboshi.

March 30

Man, is it good to have an appetite. And with food like this, it’s good there aren’t endless seconds. Lunch is Indian-spiced roast lamb with spiced fried onion, tomato salad, red lentil dhal and bhindi bhaji. I was worried about packing too much salad but it was perfect to balance out the oil

March 31

Yay leftovers, the fastest way to pack a lunch! Lunch is BBQ beef steak, tomato, dhal, bhindi bhaji and Mediterranean style roast veggies. The roast veggies help make a tasty pimped up “pizza like” cheese toastie

April 1

From now on, I am going vegan… Hah, well that definitely is a bad April Fools – but this lunch is vegan and delicious. Lunch is linguine with olives, roasted tomatoes, grilled capsicum and Mediterranean roast veggies. Though it’s lacking meat, it’s not lacking flavour.
