Lunch Log: Week 146

Repeating the same thing for at least a fortnight is apparently habit forming, but I think for my case I might need to use the “12 steps” from AA but for rice and fried food.

The bacon needed eating though – don’t judge me!

November 9

A sight that pretty much says “f— y’all” to the DIIIIIE-t; oh delicious carbs! Lunch is linguine with fresh basil, grilled capsicum, simmered sprout top, garlic mushrooms, tomato simmered with red wine and bacon. I probably could have avoided the bacon but… Bacon!

November 10

I am starting to see the appeal of frozen pre-portioned okazu for convenience but can’t think it saves money nor proves healthy. Feeling uninspired though.. Lunch is pickled runner beans, tomatoes, pickled radish, steamed broccoli, stir fry onions, bulgogi seasoned meat balls on rocket and mixed cabbage and leek garlic stir fry.

November 11

After scoffing this down quickly I can relax a little bit. Looks like “cheater’s bulgogi” got an upgrade, it appears almost like strips of beef. Lunch was mixed cabbage coleslaw, steamed broccoli, tomatoes, stir fry konnyaku with onion and garlic, marinated “cheater’s bulgogi” and kombu no tsukudani

November 12

A bit regrettable to replace beef space with egg, but hopefully it’s a healthier decision. Lunch is miso konnyaku, garlic leek, tomato, steamed broccoli, soft boiled egg, marinated cheater’s bulgogi and stir fried mixed cabbage.

Plenty of flavours today; umeboshi urgency level: low

November 13

All the brassicas! Still tolerating the cabbage thing but only time will tell it makes a difference. Lunch is eggplant adobo, steamed broccoli, tomatoes, mixed cabbage coleslaw and “beef strips” with a kochujang sauce
