Lunch Log: Week 55-58 (February 2014)
After a week of haggis, it was quite a relief to have food that didn’t contain any for a change. Instead, after a visit to a local Chinese restaurant my interests briefly went towards turnip cake.. Week 55 Week 56 Week 57 Week 58
Lunch Log: Week 50-54 (January 2014)
A shiny new year and after more than 4 years a shiny new bento bako (box)! I probably should write about it, but it’s testament that you get what you pay for as the old box has been gathering a few hairline cracks on its lid for some time. Week 50 Week 51 Week 52 […]
Lunch Log: Week 48-49 (December 2013)
An extremely short run of the lunch log for December due to a visit to family (not a trivial matter) and Christmas shenanigans. Week 48 Week 49
Lunch Log: Week 44-47 (November 2013)
Brr! Just before it truly turns cold, it was nice to have some sushi though warm roasts or hot rice starts to become a favourable staple. Week 44 Week 45 Week 46 Week 47
Lunch Log: Week 39-43 (October 2013)

Well, at least I can make use of (the single) one gathered in confidence *and* permission of the landowner. Week 39 Week 40 Week 41 Week 42 […]
Lunch Log: Week 35-38 (September 2013)
As far as seasons go September was like an extension of summer which gradually cooled, though I’d say my parents would find it too cold. Week 35 Week 36 Week 37 Week 38
Lunch Log: Week 31-34 (August 2013)
With the hotter days of August, I get access to a greater selection of fruit; but I can’t resist going for the more tropical varieties to match the season. Cold dishes like are welcome, though there is little excuse for making sushi any season. Week 31 Week 32 Week 33 Week 34
Lunch Log: Week 26-30 (July 2013)
July, which really shows summer is in full swing, starts bringing in some rather exciting produce that is a seasonal treat especially if you forgo big supermarkets. My local farm shop (it *is* a working farm, which happens to sell fresh produce) is very much in tune with the cycles of the year, and apart […]
Lunch Log: Week 25
Made a batch of ganmadoki though this time I just pan-fried them rather than the non-traditional ovenated method. Lots of ‘cupboard staples’ abound: frozen prawns, frozen salmon portions and boiled eggs.
