Lunch Log: Week 76 Day 5
It’s sunny outside but I’m inside 🙁 Lunch is broccoli namul, pork belly gyoza, tomato, soy eggplant, steamed prawns, spinach namul, egg white and takuan.
Lunch Log: Week 76 Day 4
I still have dumpling wrappers so to pad out the tasty pork belly I’ve made gyoza. Lunch is spinach namul, pork belly gyoza, mustard croquettes, tomato and broccoli with mustard dressing
Lunch Log: Week 76 Day 3
You too can emulate Yo Sushi’s rice paste: cook the rice used for blind baking! Actually, the rest of it probably suits rice porridge and these are the most square 4 seas rolls I’ve made. Lunch is mustard croquettes, tomato, spinach namul, soy egg, slow cooked pork belly with fennel, takuan and crabstick 4 seas […]
Lunch Log: Week 76 Day 2
Almost forgot there was potato about the house. And what more evil way to make it tasty than deep frying it: spring onion & mustard croquettes with spinach gomae-ae, soy egg, tomato, steamed prawns and takuan.
Lunch Log: Week 71-75 (June 2014)
The weather for June has been noticeably warm, which is not a complaint given that modern technology is on your side for climate control! Despite the month being interrupted by beery shenanigans and daft charaben oddness I’m pretty chuffed with the log not being neglected. Week 71 Week 72 Week 73 Week 74 * For […]
Lunch Log: Week 76 Day 1
I realized that curry last night was quite eggplant heavy but apart from these cute pea ones I’d eaten the rest. Lunch is leftover Chinese style duck, red curry pea eggplant, steamed broccoli & broad beans, tomatoes, takuan and 3 onigiri (green shiso, brinjal ajvar and kimchee)
Happy Cat, Grumpy Cat
Whoa, it might take a while to play catch-up with old entries – a sign that RL demands your time but rewards you with money while a personal blog also requires time but may reward you with abuse/endless silence of the great depths of the universe (and needs money to host). Anyhoo, ignoring the still-draft […]
Lunch Log: Week 66-70 (May 2014)
Bit the bullet and gave chicken lollipops a go – it might just be the chickens around here but I didn’t expect them to turn out relatively large. And tedious. And delightfully tasty. And popular at home. And addictive. And, so rightly unhealthy so it looks like I shouldn’t cook them too often. … 🙁 […]
Lunch Log: Week 62-66 (April 2014)
Recently we finally gave a “bibimbap house” a try in Cambridge; it was decent but terribly overpriced. So in typical fashion, I attempted to try it for dinner and thus another household favourite is born. Perhaps I should just make it for lunch with different topping variations rather than fuss around with anything else.. (except […]
Lunch Log: Week 59-62 (March 2014)
A recent discovery that we have access to an authentic tasting (if you consider restaurants in Sydney) green chilli paste means that there would be more lunches involving it – if we can resist wolfing it all down for dinner that is! The ramen eggs were absolutely perfect, though I may be alone in liking […]
