In retrospect from this week it doesn’t appear I struggled to recover from an amazing extended weekend at B^3; I definitely felt like an absolute asshole for not helping out with the take-down. Looks like my ‘holidays’ will be spent seeing a lot of those folk anyway in other similar events this year…
In the shopping basket we started off with a bunch of tiny carrots and perhaps the last of this season’s broad beans. I find it odd when both were together due to size disparity (particularly how it’s quite the reverse) but I couldn’t resist these baby carrots – too freakin’ adorable.

I’m so over the indulgent “dirty” street food thing after mostly eating it for 3 days straight.. Oh rice balls! Oh fresh veg, how I’ve missed you! Lunch is steamed broad beans, tomato, carrot kimpira, oyster sauce veggies, Korean-style spicy squid & konnyaku and 2 types of onigiri (tsukudani no kombu with cheese and umeboshi)

Aw, it’s almost August already? I couldn’t tell as it looks like autumn grey skies outside. Lunch is ebi fry, tomato, steamed broccoli, veggie stir fry and a large lumpia (not pictured)

Time to use the miso egg.. It’s ramen o’clock! With a kombu and chicken broth, toppings include black cloud fungus, shredded spring onion and Pakistani-style grilled chicken.
As with swearing I’m just exercising my right to fusion cooking; actually, it was rather good!
Now, time for a snooze

Hmm, that’s more rice than I should be eating. And there’s not as much veg on the side as there should be. Oh well, it was delicious! Lunch is negima yakitori, tomato, citrus juice carrots, steamed broccoli and 3 types of onigiri (anchovies with ginger & spring onion, kimchee and umeboshi with tororo kombu)

Last day of the month and it’s fried chicken, woo! Lunch is chicken karaage with lemon slices, steamed broccoli, tomato, carrots with lemon mustard dressing, pickled radishes and steamed broad beans. Not too bad with the number of colours today
