This is starting to be a common pattern – a shortened week due to something beery.. Knowing how “well” I generally feel after such a long haul event I set out to try and make a huge stash of things to encourage recovery. Unfortunately (as the story normally goes) this is normally in vain.
I’ve not used the smaller premade spring roll wrappers for a long while; it looks like it’s worth doing again as I found the portion size rather ideal.
The farm shop has loads of localish peas and I think I went a little nuts with them; though gratefully as a person not raised with overcooked peas I don’t understand how they were considered the bane of childhood dinners. And they act as my replacement to readily-available snow peas.

Prepared 50ish spring rolls but burn myself during cleaning; how typical. Lunch has cucumber slices, lumpia, steamed broccoli, carottes râpées, tomato, nectarine (not pictured) and 3 types of onigiri (umeboshi & tororo, kombu no tsukudani & cheese and peas). Giving peas a chance; quite a lot of rice but it looks like I’ve got some extras today. Lunch is green beans goma-ae, spring rolls, carottes râpées, tomato, peas rice and sweet chilli peanuts with emputido (not pictured)
