Lunch Log: Week 44-47 (November 2013)
Brr! Just before it truly turns cold, it was nice to have some sushi though warm roasts or hot rice starts to become a favourable staple.
Week 44
-
-
Remember, remember, when I had sushi last? Too long ago!
-
-
Onigiri day filled with spicy salmon and miso-spring onion. Tamago reappears with coleslaw, kimchee pancake and a single jalapeño stuffed with cheese
-
-
Spicy chicken for a cold Friday boosts the bonito flake seasoned carrot. Coleslaw on the side and tamagoyaki for dessert.
Week 45
-
-
A pleasant pheasant leftovers lunch, with the walnut breadsauce, miso garlic pak choi and tamagoyaki
-
-
The fried chicken was soggy but was premarinated with soy, ginger and garlic: delicious. Served with stir fried veg, steamed carrot and a soft-boiled egg half
-
-
Chicken & konnyaku (what Yvan calls “fake food”) with leftover veg, stir fried onion, cucumber salad and a soft boiled egg.
-
-
Even day old sushi beats shop bought.. Chicken & konnyaku reappears with onion, spicy veg, cucumber salad and takuan
Week 46
-
-
Quinoa rice to go with a pescetarian lunch of bistek-style konnyaku, broad beans & capers, tamagoyaki, cucumber, sauerkraut, prawns and garlic kale
-
-
Noodles with.. All the leftovers from the fridge: garlic kale, mushrooms, konnyaku, onion, tamagoyaki, crabsticks, carrot
-
-
Bowled up with a rape oil, hoisin sauce and rice vinegar dressing
Week 47
-
-
Sushi, kale, red curry beef, soft boiled egg and sauerkraut. Another oddball but colourful combination
-
-
Pasta is my fast food: apart from the boiled egg the linguini, bacon, steamed kale and coleslaw was preped this morning within half an hour
-
-
Fridge clean out in process: leftover sausage in a tomato based sauce alongside coleslaw, steamed kale and a (very) soft boiled egg
-
-
Delayed fishy lunch: kale, soft boiled egg, coleslaw, pan fried fish and a mini bacon croquette
