Lunch Log: Week 39-43 (October 2013)
October truly shines for mushrooms as the weather has changed into Autumn proper, though I’m not familiar with enough areas to go forage for the elusive bumper crop. Well, at least I can make use of (the single) one gathered in confidence *and* permission of the landowner.
Week 39
-
-
Homemade bowtie pasta and a zucchini tomato-based sauce; a final farewell for a joint effort back in April
-
-
What can I call something that is a cross between takoyaki (but with squid) and okonomiyaki? Whatever it is, it went well with mayo
-
-
Yesterday’s lunch delayed to today. 3 different onigiri, zucchini bhaji, squid-pancake-things, egg white with miso and tomato salad
-
-
Leftovers never looked so good! Minted lamb, veggie stir fry and coleslaw
Week 40
-
-
Leftovers never looked so good! Minted lamb, veggie stir fry and coleslaw
-
-
Slow cooked pork belly: such a treat! The cabbage and apple baked soaked the delicious juices too
Week 41
-
-
Post IndyMan and I’m feeling so drained that I forgot to post todays lunch
-
-
Almost the same as yesterday’s lunch: spiced chicken, egg, stir fried carrot, miso beans and takuan
-
-
Cached lunch of pesto pasta with carrot, beans and chicken. Capers seem to be one of those things like bacon that can improve most dishes
-
-
Best eaten warm!
Week 42
-
-
Something like dolmades from sneaking some of last night’s dinner into lunch. Boiled beans with basil, mayoless coleslaw and salmon pasta inspired from Jack
-
-
There is a gap in my lunch: freezer supplies are deemed unsafe since it suffered some time off during IndyMan. Hopefully the fried noodles, egg, pickles and coleslaw are enough..
-
-
Vegetarian lunch today: veggie stir fry, salad, pickles and a boiled egg. Still feeling drained..
Week 43
-
-
Lunch carrying the austere theme these past days; the appalling weather hasn’t helped. Hopefully I won’t poison myself with this shaggy inkcap rice, coleslaw, garlic chilli veg and tempura onion
-
-
Mini lamb burgers with basil and chilli sauce? Definitely better than yesterday’s offering. Also, discovered the fried chicken takeaway sauce is pretty tasty
-
-
Salmon à la Jack today to go with my lamb cabbage roll and coleslaw
-
-
Amongst the Haribo sweets packets my lunch seems much healthier (and tastier). Lamb meatballs stuffed with cheese, home made tomato salsa and coleslaw
