Lunch Log: Week 35-38 (September 2013)
As far as seasons go September was like an extension of summer which gradually cooled, though I’d say my parents would find it too cold.
Week 35
-
-
Summer is officially over but BBQ leftovers and sushi is still welcome
-
-
Inarizushi day! Actually, I just need to clear up the opened tin.. The stir fry is vegetarian but fairly moreish
-
-
Noodles today, hurray for leftover BBQ bits!
-
-
Cold sesame noodles with cabbage, tomato, BBQ corn and chicken. And homemade picked jalapeño for extra zing
Week 36
-
-
Onigiri Monday with miso spring onion and bacon with mayo. The stuffed squid was fried so healthy sides to compensate
-
-
Pesto dressed zucchini and prawn, coleslaw and a soft-boiled miso egg. Another flurry of flavours today
-
-
Salmon paste at 2 for £1? Time for Jack’s salmon pasta! Miso egg, steamed carrot and mustard dressed coleslaw to fan the chilli (which I should of deseeded)
-
-
Friday the 13th is zombie chicken! Actually it’s the lunch I packed for yesterday but I ended up eating out
Week 37
-
-
Meaty lunch today: hamburg, left over steak, coleslaw and kimpira
-
-
A colourful selection today mainly due to an unusual stir fry. Hamburg and soft boiled egg for protein with carrot and hijiki kimpira and smashed cucumber
-
-
Aussie green and gold hosomaki today with crispy salmon skin, fish curry, hamburg, soft boiled egg, carrot & hijiki kimpira and finally a single inarizushi. All washed down with instant miso
Week 38
-
-
A cabbage filled lunch: pesto and kale pasta with creamy kale mash, cabbage & apple cheese bake with lemon seasoned pork.
-
-
Had to wolf most of this down before an informal demo. Good thing onigiri is hand friendly
-
-
Pretty decent for very little prep last night. Simple zucchini stirfry, soft-boiled egg, steamed beans and battered korokke (no breadcrumbs at home)
-
-
The last of the ‘korokke’ again served with a certain someone’s homemade garlic and chilli mayo. Spiced up zucchini and simmered kombu: big flavours for today
-
-
Deadlines fast approaching. Time for lunch!
-
-
A sort-of oyakodon inspired noodle bowl with beans, jalapeño and tenkasu
-
-
So wrong to eat this quickly – pesto linguine with prawns, romanesco with baba ghanosh, and a BBQ’d corn segment
