Lunch Log: Week 173

When one is exhausted, the familiar becomes a comfort. In this case: carrots, tomato, steamed broad beans, spinach, potato salad. Nothing too extravagant, but decent flavours and enough variety to stave boredom.

May 31

A simple comfort for a rainy day. And really fast to prepare. Another pimped up instant ramen with spring onion, homemade pickled ginger, prawns, chilli, nori and a soft boiled egg. Using part a chicken stock pack helps too

June 1

Oh, an ode to bento, on these gloomy days and the suffocating effects of stupid people you are at least one good thing in my waking hours. Lunch is teriyaki eggplant, steamed broad beans, rustic Korean spinach, tomato, carrot kimpira and onigiri

June 2

Wow, what a difference timing makes between a dry fish and a succulent one. Lunch is tomato, grilled salmon, pickled radishes, tamagoyaki, potato salad, spinach namul and a lychee dessert

June 3

A mindless day, a gray miserable day; thank my flying spaghetti monster it’s Friday. Lunch is tomato, potato salad, tamagoyaki, garlic broccoli, grilled beef steak (woo hoo!) and carrot and broccoli stem kimpira.
